We're back in the Book of Daniel, and today we're looking at Chapter 5.
Picture this: You're the king of Babylon. You've got wealth, power, enormous defensive walls, and every reason to believe nobody can touch you.
So what do you do while an enemy army is outside your city?
Apparently, you throw a party.
That's exactly what Belshazzar does. And just when the celebration is getting underway, something happens that nobody in that banquet hall could have anticipated.
A mysterious hand appears and begins writing on the wall.
And the message isn't good news.
Today we're going to examine what happened, what Daniel told the king, and why this account still matters to us.
We'll also get into spiritual complacency, the danger of putting our confidence in the wrong things, and what it means to stand firmly on the word of God even when it's unpopular.
